Gordon Smith - Retail Crime & ORC Editor
Gordon served the Loss Prevention industry for 17 years before returning to the Downing & Downing team as an Executive Search Consultant. He has expanded his role as a contributing writer and editor for the D&D Daily, bringing his industry expertise to the Retail Crime and ORC columns. Gordon's career in Loss Prevention covers discount and full-line department stores, membership warehouse and specialty retail formats, and attaining positions from District, Regional, and Director of Security Services. Gordon holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, was a former Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and he also proudly served with the U.S. Army's Military Police.
Sean Colarossi - Managing Editor
Sean's various roles with the D&D Daily include overseeing social media and website content, helping to manage the layout and visual presentation of the e-newsletter, writing articles, coordinating content, conducting research and updating the d-ddaily.net website.
Sean brings to the team a background in journalism, politics and community involvement. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an Associate of Arts degree in Journalism from Lakeland Community College, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the student-run newspaper The Lakelander.
Jan Nejedlik - Graphic Designer
Jan has been in the graphic design field since 1980. Working at several ad agencies downtown and throughout suburban Cleveland, business in-house graphic design departments, as well as print houses, Jan has the knowledge that only 35+ years in an ever-evolving industry can provide. In 1998 she started her own Graphic/Web Design firm, Design By J, LLC and has built an impressive small business client list, many of whom have been with her since the inception of the company.
Jan initially developed the overall look and feel and color palette for the rollout of The D&D Daily e-News and has been creating icons, headers, banner ads, email blast graphics, trade show graphics, posters, and anything else we need for the Daily since then. She has been instrumental in helping us evolve the Daily, striving to produce top quality graphics as well as creating, updating, and helping us evolve our websites, d-ddaily.net, lpnn.net, and orcinfo.com.
