The “Loss Prevention Furniture Alliance” conducted their second field meeting at the Corporate Headquarters of Art Van Furniture located in Warren, MI. The 1 and a half day meeting included vendor presentations on Occupational Health and Safety as well as Data Analytics. This dynamic group of Loss Prevention Professionals also took time to solidify their mission statement, draft a charter, and developed noninvasive methods and standards for the sharing of non-competitive topics. Members also presented on the use of Social Media/Internet as an investigative tool. With all this work came a little fun as the group enjoyed a night out continuing to build and enhance their personal and professional relationships.

RAC supports the North Texas Food Bank. We do that through food drives, fundraising and volunteering our time at a local food pantry. In the past, our Asset Protection Team has been involved in various fund raising activities. This year we chose to volunteer our time as a group to help a local food pantry, Frisco Family Services. We spent our day stocking the shelves, checking expiration dates and insuring the food was fresh for their customers. This past week several team members from 7-Eleven and SOS Security attended the annual awards banquet for the Irving Police Department. SOS is our partner that supplies our security team at the Store Support Center.
In its effort to support the officers in the community, 7-Eleven and SOS Security joined the Irving Police Department in Irving, Texas to honors its officers and staff for their accomplishments during 2017. The annual event gives the department an opportunity to spotlight outstanding examples of leadership and excellence with their officers and staff.
Among the prestigious awards given was the Officer of the Year and the Brass Pig award. In addition to honoring the men and women of the IPD, the silent auction proceeds from the event help support the Irving Family Advocacy Center. The FAC and IPD's partnership has been in response to families in need and victims of crime in the Irving Community. Once a Toys R Us Kid, Always a Toys R Us Kid
Store 9207 in Mentor, Ohio Lives On in the Hearts of Former Employees
Former and current employees at the Mentor, OH Toys R Us Store, including the D&D Daily's own Katie Bowles, gathered together for one last picture in front of the place that brought them all together as team members and friends. Liquidation sales already started at the store, as past team members roamed the aisles, break room and back of house where they once worked.
Inside the employee break room is a hand-painted mural of Geoffrey the Giraffe and the famous slogan "I don't wanna grow up!" Around the iconic toy store's mascot lies a whole cast of cartoon characters and store employees with names painted on the side of past and present team members. Even though the store will be gone, the memories made inside those walls and friendships forged since the store began will forever live on in the hearts of Mentor's Toys R Us employees.

The Bloomingdale's AP team participated in Bloomingdale's 21st Bag Hunger Campaign. Every year, Bag Hunger strives to eliminate food insecurity for individuals, families, and children in our local communities.
This year our team supported Food Bank for New York City. We spent a day at the Community Kitchen and Pantry in Harlem, NY. While there, we prepared and served hot meals to elderly in need. We also prepared meals to go for people in preparation of inclement weather, as well as, prepared hot meals for dinner later that day.
At Macy's & Bloomingdale's, we've been taking a stand against hunger since 1998- that's 21 years. The company has donated the equivalent of 128,961,667 pounds of food since 1998. And associates have volunteered 315,618 hours towards hunger-relief since 2006. Last year, we helped 605 organizations fight hunger across the nation.
Every year we support Bag Hunger, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), United Way, and the Aids Walk.
